How It All Started
She was born to humble beginnings on a small Arkansas farm.
Henrietta "Ginger" McClucksky first showed promise
while still inside her eggshell. Her owners were
startled to find an X and O pattern pecked onto the
eggshell as she struggled to peck her way out to
the world that awaited her - a world of fame and
fortune.
After
months of training in a makeshift tic-tac-toe booth, Ginger
picked up the technique almost instantly. She was a natural,
and became an eggspert at winning the game. She
was
ready to make her public debut.
Ginger's
first national tour established her as a genuine bird brain.
Making
appearances at State and County Fairs, she was
challenged
by those who believed they could win a tic-tac-toe
game from her. No one succeeded.
Ginger remained undefeated.
Fowl
Play At The Fair
As
word spread of Ginger's uncanny ability, fairgoers continued
to line up just to have a chance to take on the
famous fowl and her back-up team of high-IQ hens.
In
a bizarre twist of fate, feathers started flying when it
was discovered that three of Ginger's back-ups had
mysteriously vanished. Had they really flown the coop? For days, officials
searched for the missing hens. The
capon caper received international attention. Newspapers, television
and radio affiliates throughout the nation and
world reported on the alleged kidnapping of the trained trio. Media
outlets from California to Kalamazoo talked
about the hen heist. Television and radio from London to Sydney were
calling for updates. Chicken sightings
were numerous. The world was concerned. Unbeknownst to Ginger, the
remaining chicken, stardom was only
a beaks-width away.
A
Star Is Hatched
Amidst
all the squawking, The Tropicana Hotel and Casino in Atlantic
City was the first to call. They offered Ginger a four-week
contract. The response
was overwhelming. Casino players lined
up by the dozens to play tic-tac-toe against Ginger in
the
Tropicana's $10,000 Chicken Challenge.
Her
contract was extended. Six months,
nine months, one year. She had scratched and clawed her way to
the top and now the fruits of her labor had paid off.
Enter
Las Vegas. As her success continued, Ginger received
offers from other casino industry properties.
The Tropicana Resort and Casino in Las Vegas was
next,
where she signed a year-long contract
to perform. She had hit the big time. The glittering lights
on the Vegas Strip were a dream come true. Ginger's
goals and aspirations were no longer
a
yolk. This was for real.
Now
a national celebrity, Ginger continues to receive worldwide
acclaim. She has
also negotiated deals with the Casino Aztar in Evansville,
Indiana,
the Grand Casino in Tunica, Mississippi,
and is currently
in contract negotiations with other
casino properties
throughout the country.
