UIP - Universal Intelligent Processor
The Universal Intelligent Processor, UIP is an intelligent network based controller that natively supports up to 4 reader ports and communicates via its dual Ethernet ports to a host or hosts on the network.  The host is any manufacturer’s access control system that itself is integrated with the U2.  Multiple UIPs are used to support an unlimited number of reader ports and card access doors.

The UIP includes a powerful microprocessor with a variety of memory types for efficient access to data, system database storage, and storage of millions of user records.  Among others, the onboard data base storage includes data and time, user access list, clearance codes, holiday lists, and event journals, all stored locally.  After initial download, connection to the host is not mandatory except for database updates.  Each board includes 20 supervised configurable inputs, 5 each per door port, each with a tri-color status indicating LED.  The UIP includes an onboard dual joystick LCD for status reports, configuration, testing and troubleshooting in the field.
